Get the best catering equipment hire for your kitchen. All of our electric equipment is PAT tested while our LPG equipment is regularly certified by a Gas Safe engineer

Choosing the right catering equipment hire can be tricky but we’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for you with our selection.

How do I know which kind of oven hire I need to choose?

Setting up any kind of kitchen requires some careful choices to make sure equipment is not only right for the food to be cooked but also for the setting it is being used in.  Oven hire is one of the bigger components of any kitchen and getting that wrong can be an expensive mistake.

At Expo Hire London we offer the choice of both LPG and electric ovens for hire; each of which are designed for different usage. Electric ovens for hire are for indoor areas where they can be used to bake, roast and grill food easily. However, because electric ovens need lots of power to run they cannot be used outdoors. The wattage required by electric ovens can easily trip temporary power supplies such as generators and extension leads. The portability of LPG bottles make LPG ovens the perfect choice for usage outside; even an oven with powerful burners like our six burner oven can happily run off an LPG bottle. However, LPG ovens are not designed to be used indoors due to the potential lack of ventilation of exhaust fumes.

Offering high quality stock has always been something that we pride ourselves upon and because of this we frequently replace our ovens with new ones. This is particularly important with ovens which are often the main workhorse of a kitchen and allows our customers to order from us with peace of mind.

What kind of fridge hire is there?

Keeping drinks and food chilled does not need to be a difficult or expensive proposition. We work with a variety of commercial kitchens as well as with events and functions throughout Southampton and Hampshire to help them with their fridge hire needs. Our expert drivers frequently deliver fridges for hire to venues in the south coast region, helping to make sure that drinks and food are kept cold at events throughout the year.

We offer a wide selection of fridges for hire at Expo Hire Solent. For example, our upright glass-fronted display fridges are one of the most frequently hired products we have, going out on hire to a variety of places from retailers to small functions. We also have in stock double door bottle coolers which are often used as an under-counter fridge by pop-up bars. For those who require more specialist products, we also have wine fridges, countertop fridges and chilled drink dispensers available.

We understand from experience that commercial kitchens need space to chill and prepare food. To meet this demand, we offer counter fridges with integrated workspaces which can be moved quickly into position with ease. At the other end of the spectrum, our extra large double door fridges are just what is needed for kitchens with large storage requirements.

Is there commercial barbecue hire available?

Cooking food at a big outdoor event like a fayre or a festival is very easy with the right equipment in place. While a garden party can make do with just a small bbq, we know that for our commercial customers, commercial barbecue hire is going to be essential.

The barbecues for hire we have available have been chosen with large outdoor events in mind and are readily capable of feeding hundreds of guests. The Cinders barbecue is an industry standard barbecue which has features such as two separate cooking areas, allowing for both meat and vegetarian menus to be cooked simultaneously without any fear of cross-contamination. We also stock gas bottles and wrenches so customers can be sure they have everything they need to get going quickly.

What do I need to know about catering equipment hire?

Regardless of what catering equipment you hire, there are some important things to take into consideration before hiring.

The most important consideration is power. All of our electrical items use a standard three pin UK plug and have been PAT tested prior to dispatch. Please check the wattage required as more powerful products can trip extension leads and generators. As a rule, electric equipment is designed to be used indoors.

Our LPG equipment is all regularly certified by a Gas Safe Engineer as being safe to use, and certification is available on request. All of our equipment uses standard bayonet fittings and can be attached to 19 or 47kg gas bottles. We cannot do this for you on delivery – if you’re not sure how to do it please ask a Gas Safe engineer to connect it for you. LPG equipment is designed to be used outdoors in the main.

How does delivery of catering equipment hire work?

Finding out how much your delivery of event hire cost is easy. Simply tap the Expo Hire Solent logo anywhere on the website to be taken to the homepage where you will find the carriage calculator button. This clever widget will not only give you the exact costs to your venue postcode, it will also confirm which website is closest so you don’t have to worry about overpaying.

We also list all possible surcharges on that page. If any of these are applicable, they are confirmed in the checkout once you have reconfirmed your delivery address and dates, and are itemised in full so there are no nasty surprises before you pay.
